movie review "PERFUME ~The story of a murderer"

I watched "Perfume ~The story of a murderer" tonight with my friend since she invited me seeing the movie with her discount tickets from her friend. I imagined that this movie would be a kind of maniac. I read the synopsis on the internet in advance. In short, the main character become a perfumer due to learn how to preserve beautiful women's scent. The extraordinary but sublime purpose made him a murderer to get scent of women. The stage was in the 18th centry France. At that time Paris was flooded with auful smells, in particular, the fish market in where he was born. He has a natural with sniffing everything out. At last, he stepped into the forbiddedn ground. He hoped that he keep the noble scent of beautiful woman with him forever. He continued to kill beautiful women until he got 12 bottles of their scent to compound the scent and make up the best and the only one perfume to make people feel full of love. He was arrested for the crime of murder, sentenced death penalty. At the day of his execution, he brought the perfume with him to the venue for public executions. The scent of the misterious perfume consisted of 12 women's scent made people there feel that he is an angel. He escaped there, and then went to his irth place, the fish market in Paris. He had never loved a real woman. It was a pity. I presumed that the directer wanted to express the feelings of the man with a gift, but I felt that the film was like a artificial expression of a scent rather than a psychological chracterization after seeing the film. In a way, it was the film that it had never been though it had been likely to be.
